The 2020 Hike Schedule

All members and their guests are invited to join the Hiking Club on any of our exhilarating hikes.  With the exception of the two overnight trips, all hikes are FREE.  Reservations are Appreciated and NOT required for the hikes!  Please use our Whoozin or call the the Persimmon Fitness Center to reserve your spot. 

 

All hikes leave from the Persimmon Club House (and we carpool).  Hope to see you there!

Piestewa Peak is the 2nd highest point in the Phoenix Mtns (after Camelback).  Freedom Trail and Summit Trail offer multiple levels of challenge and each offer spectacular views of the PHX area!  Please click on image for more info.

This trail is a 9.7 mile moderately trafficked (and moderate/difficult) loop trail that features a rocky canyons, grassy hillsides, sandy washes, a waterfall and all the beauty of the White Tank Mountains.

SPUR CROSS, CAVE CREEK

This trail is the most popular and easiest hike of the Spur Cross Conservation Area. The views are spectacular and the Solar Oasis is an interesting place to discover. . The desert scenery is often  very lush, with giant saguaros and frequent crossing of the creek.  Click on the image for more info.

SKYLINE TRAILS, BUCKEYE

This park and network of trails offers a great hike for everyone, from flat, easy strolls to quad-busting climbs. Tie 3 routes together (Quartz Mine, Skyline Crest and Lost Creek trails) for a fantastic loop hike and a short climb up Crest Summit for sweet views of the surrounding desert.

Doe Mtn. trail is an easy, 1-mile hike with excellent views of the area countryside and a panoramic view from the top.  From the same parking lot, Bear Mtn. trail is a strenuous 5-mile hike - also with panoramic views.  Think about a wind breaker! Catalina State Park offers many trails of varied length/difficulty - all with amazing views and flowers!  Sabino Canyon reveals all the beauty of the desert foothills and rocky gorges.
